Ryan Batcheller is a 3D Environment Artist based in Orange County California. Ryan specializes in designing and building immersive, story driven, worlds for video games and VR experiences. Ryan has worked in the video game industry for over 17 years on multiple games for PC, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, various mobile devices, and for VR headsets. Past projects have included various MMO games based on the World of JumpStart and The Madagascar Penguins. The Math Blaster online MMO, Math Blaster Hypercycle mobile game, and the Math Blaster Nintendo DS game. Ryan would then spend 10 years as Art Lead on the School of Dragons online MMO based on the popular How to Train Your Dragon Movies from DreamWorks for PC and various mobile devices.
Ryan also is the creator and owner of Virtual Screams, designing and creating bizarre and horrifying experiences for VR. These VR experiences were presented at several past Midsummer Scream Halloween Conventions in Long Beach CA. New experiences for Virtual Screams are currently under development for a future release date.
Ryan has combined his passion for theme park design and virtual reality along with his love of the character of Indiana Jones to create this personal Fan tribute VR project. Having been a former Cast Member at Disneyland and a test rider, Ryan has unique knowledge of the Indiana Jones Aventure attraction. Ryan has used his knowledge of the attraction and skills in virtual reality development to create a full version of the popular Disneyland Attraction that can be experienced with the Oculus Rift. Ryan is the Co-Creator and Co-Curator of the PopZilla Gallery that he started in 2012 with fellow Artist Sam Carter. The Popzilla Gallery are themed Pop Culture art shows that have been hosted in various galleries in Orange County CA. Past shows can be seen on the Facebook page and currently past PopZilla Artists are involved in the Art Tribute shows hosted at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park CA.
